  • Gain an appreciation of challenges faced by managers in relation to transformation and change in a global context.
  • Appreciate the short- and long-term impact change has on multi-locational organisations
  • Understand organisational involvement in leading, introducing and bringing change in a diverse context.
  • Utilise a range of strategies to efficiently and positively deal with organisational change in multinational corporations.

Scenario

Select a multi locational organisation that operates within the international business environment as a case study, your choice to be approved by your lecturer. It is better to choose a well-known organisation so that you have access to information.

The organisation wishes to undertake a Business Transformation which has resulted from a change in strategy and will result in a shift, realignment or fundamental change in business operations. The aim is to make changes to processes, people and systems (technology) to better align the company with its new global business strategy and vision. This may include how the organisation has responded to the global pandemic and/or Brexit.

Your task

Is to undertake a critical analysis of the practical role of leadership change management in the organisation and:

  1. Identify and critically discuss the leadership, change management and organisational challenges in the context of the diverse nature of the organisation
  2. Determine and critically discuss the strategic significance of the change management leadership skills and competencies that they will need to successfully manage the transformation.
  3. Discuss and critically evaluate the perspectives and theories on management and leadership and how these might be applicable to the effectiveness of the management’s contribution to the transformation of the business
