You are a senior manager at a medium sized organisation. You have been asked to undertake a strategic analysis of organisational coaching and mentoring and its impact on meeting strategic performance objectives. The aim is to identify the interrelationships between organisational culture and the supportive processes in place for employees. Part of your analysis will require you to examine management theories and evaluate alternative approaches to management and leadership to better inform organisational performance.
Task 1:
Explain how organisational strategic performance objectives link to individual, team and departmental performance objectives. Identify these links explaining why alignment between them is important.
Apply relevant performance management theory to describe the relationship between individuals, team, and departmental development and the role of coaching and of mentoring within the developmental process.
